PROJECT: HOMELESS

The Cost of Following Jesus

As they were walking along the road, a man said to him, "I will follow you wherever you go."
Jesus replied, "Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to rest his head."

He said to another man, "Follow me."
But the man replied, "Lord, first let me go and bury my father."
Jesus said to him, "Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and proclaim the kingdom of God."

Still another said, "I will follow you, Lord; but first let me go back and say good-by to my family."
Jesus replied, "No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God."

PROJECT: HOMELESS

The solution to homelessness rests inside of the walls of the Church.

The churches of America need to open their doors and allow any homeless person to sleep inside of the building.  I believe the greatest sin in the world is that the churches are locked and their members have turned a blind eye to the poor.

Here is the beginning of a line for the food pantry at The Church of the Blessed Sacrament on Sunset Blvd in Hollywood, California.  The pantry opens at 4:00 pm but this was the line at 3:15 pm.  This church is doing their part  to feed the hungry.

What is your church doing?
