If I Could Turn Back Time

The longer they drove, it seemed as if they were going back in time.  Who would ever think that JT, Donnie, Clyde and Baby would wake up in the town where they filmed "Stand by Me", twenty-five years ago.  Yes indeed.  The road trip which started out in Anaheim, California ended up in Brownsville, Oregon.

Not only is this the hometown of the classic Stephen King movie, but it is also the fifth generation of Hoplas living on the historic original pony express where the new Kirk's Ferry Trading Post Dinner and Show will be opening.  Greg Hopla has hired JT to be the general manager of this facility.  They will also be living on the premises.

No more homelessness.  No more joblessness.  JT and his crew will be starting life over on a ten acre farm complete with horses, cattle and bunch of chickens.

God has been looking out for John Thomas.  John Thomas has been looking out for Donnie.  Donnie has been watching over Clyde and Baby.  Now John Thomas spends time with God on a lovely Spring day wondering how they will best be able to serve God in a town which has less people than his high school did.

The good news is that God has a plan for everyone of us.  We just need to listen as to what that plan is.

  1. Good Luck on your new adventure; a farm sounds like a good uncomplicated place for you to live.
